Dr. Amina Hussain is working as an Assistant Professor at Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University with the Department of English & Modern European and Asian Languages, Lucknow. She has also taught as an Assistant Professor at Amity University, School of Languages, Lucknow. Recipient of University Medal and Certificate of Merit for securing first position in Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University in M.A (English Hons). She has also been a UGC-NET-JRF (Junior Research Fellow) with the University of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. She successfully defended her doctoral thesis on ‘Muslim Women Writers in Diaspora’.
She has presented papers in numerous national and international seminars and conferences. She has helped redesign B.A and M.A syllabus of the Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University as per the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) under NEP(National Education Policy, 2021). She is also a working core member of the Language Committee for the introduction and expansion of the foreign and Asian languages along with the preservation of the extinct Indian regional languages. She was invited to speak on “Global South Workshop” in Hongkong organised by Max Weber Foundation. Her areas of interest includes: diaspora, gender studies, culture studies, third world feminism and islamic feminism. She has co-edited a book entitled, “ The Dynamics of Gender: New Approaches in Feminism” .She is guest editing a special issue on Gendering Pandemic: Covid 19 and its Impact on Women for the Journal of Comparative Literature and Aesthetic also known as JCLA. Her forthcoming Rethiking Muslim Women and Feminism: Theory, Practice and Contexts explores the current complexities of Muslim women. She also regularly writes for feminist news portals in India and is actively involved with the NGOs at the grassroots level.
