Dr Smita Tiwary, PhD, is working with GRFDT (Global Research Forum on Diaspora and Transnationalism) based in New Delhi, covering various issues relating to international migration and diaspora. Earlier, she worked with the ICWA (Indian Council of World’s Affairs) for nearly six years on issues of India’s foreign policies and South Asian security. She has also taught for couple of years in the University of Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia University. Dr. Tiwary has done her PhD from (JNU) Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has been part of several research projects and also has some international and many national publications to her credit. Her research interests include: India’s foreign and neighbourhood policies, South Asian security, India’s diaspora policies, South Asian diaspora and, international migration and development etc.
