Associate Members

Definition

An Associate Member is an academic, researcher, teacher, early-career scholar, professional, doctoral researcher, postgraduate researcher, practitioner, or other qualified individual who wishes to participate actively in CAPCDR’s research, publication, professional development, and academic networking activities.

Associate Membership is particularly suitable for individuals who are developing their academic or professional careers and wish to build stronger research, publication, leadership, networking, and collaborative experience.

Benefits and Privileges

Associate Members may:

• Participate in CAPCDR conferences, seminars, webinars, workshops, research activities, and professional development programs.
• Join research groups, thematic networks, and collaborative academic projects.
• Participate as authors, presenters, reviewers, moderators, organizing committee members, or research collaborators where academically appropriate.
• Receive opportunities to develop experience in peer review, academic editing, conference organization, research methodology, and scholarly communication.
• Collaborate with Life Members and other senior scholars.
• Propose research projects, webinars, workshops, seminars, conference sessions, and other academic activities.
• Participate in special issues, edited volumes, conference proceedings, research reports, and collaborative publications.
• Receive academic mentoring and professional networking opportunities where available.
• Be considered for appropriate CAPCDR committees, working groups, research teams, and editorial activities.
• Progress toward Life Membership based on academic qualifications, professional development, contribution, and sustained involvement with CAPCDR.

Role and Working Procedure

Associate Members primarily operate through participation, collaboration, skill development, and contribution.

Their normal engagement pathway may be:

Participation → Collaboration → Contribution → Leadership Development → Recognition → Eligibility for Life Membership

Associate Members may join existing CAPCDR initiatives or submit their own proposals. Where appropriate, CAPCDR may connect an Associate Member with a Life Member or experienced scholar for collaboration, mentorship, or project development.

Responsibilities

Associate Members are expected to:

• Participate responsibly in assigned or voluntarily accepted academic activities.
• Follow accepted standards of research ethics and academic integrity.
• Respect deadlines and responsibilities associated with reviewing, organizing, researching, or publishing.
• Promote respectful international and interdisciplinary academic collaboration.
• Support CAPCDR’s mission of expanding opportunities for emerging and underrepresented scholars.
• Refrain from representing themselves as authorized representatives of CAPCDR unless formally authorized.
